Equipment includes the hardware, software, apps, accessories, and other items that help eligible individuals who are deaf-blind access telecommunications, the internet, and advanced communications services. Equipment may include specialized devices, such as refreshable Braille displays, screen readers, and amplified communication devices, as well as standard products like smartphones, tablets, and computers when configured with the appropriate accessibility features. Before equipment is provided, a qualified assessment is completed to ensure the recommended equipment meets the consumer's individual communication needs.
